Media queries

Hi I love to try new products (beauty, kids, educational products etc) and explore new places.  I offer my honest reviews and feedback on the products I use and it would be good to send me a non-returnable product for the review.

If you have a place in mind for me to review, it would be good to include my family so that I can write a review based from a family perspective.

Journey of a preggie mum - #2

Week 12 - 26/2/16

Went for OSCARS and an ultrasound at Thomson Medical Centre.  Thank God the results are ok!  Baby waved at my husband and I, the moment was so amazing.  The sonographer was trying to get my baby to turn and advised me to cough and turn so that the baby can turn.  I prayed that baby would turn and when she saw on the screen, her hands were clasped.  It was as if she was praying with me.  Each time I hear baby's heartbeat, it's a thanksgiving moment to know that she's there with me.

Though we don't know the gender of the baby, I am going by faith it's a girl as He had given me a dream of me guiding the little girl down the stairs.  The Lord has been good to me for He had given me another dream a few years back.  I remember the dream vividly where I went for a blood test and was told that the baby would be born in the leap year.  I am thankful that He gave me the dream to comfort and encourage me for He remembered my waiting years to give Jared a sibling.

Another to thank God for is Jared.  When he knows that I am pregnant, he was curious and asked me questions.  When it comes to our thanksgiving time, I asked him to state 2 events that happened during the day for thanksgiving.  He told me, " I want to give thanks to God for giving Mummy the baby".  It was wonderful to hear that from him for he knows that I have been praying for #2 as he had seen me praying and touched by the Holy Spirit.  Jared has grown up and I am thankful that He gave me a great helper.  I can understand how Hannah felt during her waiting years for her children to come.  God's timing is great!

Week 13 - 4/4/16

A few friends commented that I lost weight.  Indeed, I lost 1 kg as I have been having small meals.  Though hungry at tea break, I would satisfy my hunger pangs with wholemeal bread or popiah.  At night time, it would be cream crackers.  Sometimes, I get hungry in the middle of the night that I couldn't sleep.  Now oatmeal cereal drink has become my night buddy as my stomach is comforted with this warm drink that makes me go to sleep.

The food that I always like such as braised chicken wings, steamed cod fish, nasi lemak do little to up my appetite.  I am thankful that I am still eating though my appetite steered towards meatball porridge, dumplings soup, fried chicken wings and mac chicken or nuggets.  I find that when I took prawns, my skin started to itch.  I am staying away from garlic as I can't stand the smell if I belch.

I have a craving for dimsum, soupy stuff, chicken chop, 南乳pork chops, wanton mee, Lee Tong Kee ipoh horfun (CK, I hope you are reading this as I am craving for dimsum from Yan Palace).  At one time, I was eating soupy horfun for 2 days.

Prune juice has also become my good friend when it comes to constipation.  My stomach is bloated after taking oily stuff, carrot cake or my favourite 饭粿 made me feel so uncomfortable.  I am not complaining as this makes me choose my food wisely.

My taste buds is still feeling the steely bland kinda taste.  Hopefully, my appetite will improve.

Going to see Dr John Tee at KKH this week.  I am thankful that Dr KC Yeo was nice enough to ask me whether I have any questions to ask him as he doesn't do delivery anymore.

Week 20 - 24/5/16
Prune juice has become my favourite drink at the moment as I battled against constipation.  I was down with runny nose and cough and it had been 3 days since I caught the flu bug.  My diet had changed to whole grain and more vegetables but that doesn't help.  I have been eating brown rice, oatmeal that I am beginning to love these superfoods.  Even my son has become a convert in brown rice.  I was pleased to know that JD's school has introduced brown rice into their meals sometimes.  I was pleasantly surprised that JD takes plain oatmeal for breakfast which I prepared for him sometimes.  The bland organic oatmeal that he took when he was a toddler must have helped.

It is hard to find wholegrain foods outside unless I prepare at home in advance.  The brown rice sold outside are hard and not easy to digest unlike the brown rice I prepared at home.  The trick to this is to soak the brown rice for 4 hours and it will turn soft once cooked.

Week 32 - 25/8/16
I have been tired lately and as baby is getting bigger, I am starting to slow down.  At the same time, I have to look into my son's P1 registration.  My son didn't get into the school that we put as first choice and I was disappointed.  We had also brought JD who also witnessed the balloting process.  Good that JD didn't feel disappointed.  I bought him food from the canteen as this would be the last time that we would step into SS Pri School.

When I told JD that half of his class will be going to XX Pri School, he said he also wanted to go there.  Big mistake!  I should have applied to ABC so that #2 can be registered at the childcare centre near this school.  I told him that we would have to try at Phase 2C Supplementary where students who didn't get any placement would have to register under this phase.  At this, he started to cry.  He asked me, "You mean, I don't have a school?".  I reassured him that he will get a place in a school and hopefully it will be nearby.  So we sat down and prayed.

We finally got a place in a school nearby.  So far, only 1 classmate in his class is going to this school.  Ok, not so bad.  At least he gets company.
